Blues Week-end

27 and 28 January - Free admission to all concerts

For the fourth year in a row, Billy Bob's at Disney Village hots its famous Blues weekend featuring talented artists from a variety of horizons.

The evening of Friday, 27 January will be devoted to men who play the blues, while on Saturday, 28 January it will be the ladies' turn.

Friday 27 January

Big Joe - 08:30 pm
Initially known for his duties as George Hamilton V's sidekick vocalist and guitarist, Big Joe Barret finally came into his own in 2006 with his first album: "SPECIAL SAUCE". The main inspiration is the Southern rock of his roots. His guitar playing has the flavour of his native St. Louis: the Blues. In 2008, he brought out the single "Watchin' Somethin'", selected to feature on Warner Music's "Country Roads 2" compilation. Big Joe is about to record his next album, called "What the Blues is going on!"

New Line Up - 09:15 pm
2011: Winner of the Cahors Blues Festival 2011 springboard competition / Cognac Blues Trophy / Disney Village Trophy at the Cahors Blues Festival 2011.
New Line Up will be playing a Chicago Swing Blues set inspired by 50s Rhythm'n'Blues, the 80s West Coast sound and the frontiers of Jazz. Jérôme Lemesle (vocals, harmonica), Pascal Rigault (guitar), Pascal Hernandez (double bass) and Pascal Delahaye (drums) enjoy performing everything from Duke Ellington numbers in jazz clubs to T-Bone Walker at festivals - along with their own compositions.

Big Daddy Wilson - 10:30 pm
Newspaper and magazine articles highlight Big Daddy's unique, powerful and warm vocal style and the way he connects with the audience through his songs. But Big Daddy Wilson is much more than just another Bluesman. Thanks to his unique vocal style and his story-telling abilities, he stands out from the crowd as a messenger and a genuine singer-songwriter.

Saturday 28 January

Sofaï (acoustic) - 08:30 pm
Sofaï's voice is what strikes you first - redolent with the blues-rock spirit and its greatest performers. Sofaï is also an undeniably talented singer-songwriter, fluent in English, who is proficient on a large number of instruments and in her own characteristic songwriting style. Beverly Jo Scott, Elliott Murphy, Deborah Coleman, Billy C Farlow, Sharrie Williams, Sal Bernardi (singer-songwriter for Rickie Lee Jones and Willy Deville) are just some of the stars the artist has recently worked or performed with. Sofaï usually plays with her group "The Sweet Talkers", but will be giving a solo acoustic concert on this special evening occasion.
Rachelle Plas - 09:15 pm
"Rachelle Plas: a girl, a harmonica and a voice."
Rachelle Plas has made the great standards of Afro-American music her own, drawing on the blues and finding fulfilment in soul.
Her full-bodied voice is set off by her excellent backing band - and of course her harmonica playing, the high point of her captivating, joyful, lively music, full of aspirations. What a dynamic!
Words simply can't do justice to this act, whose essence lies in the intimate connection with the audience during the show itself
Blues Caravan - 10:30 pm
Ruf Records presents three of the most talented young female guitarists in one act. For the past six years, the Blues Caravan has been successfully touring the UK, the US and continental Europe. This unique concept, featuring three artists, has allowed international audiences to get to know up-and-coming stars such as Ana Popovic and Joanne Shaw Taylor. Following in the footsteps of their elders, this trio of new talents on the Blues scene comprises Samantha Fish, Cassy Taylor (Otis's daughter) and Dani Wilde.
